Biography

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Klaus Bender is professor emeritus at the Department of Information Technology in Mechanical Engineering (itm). Prof. Bender acted as director at itm for more than 17 years, is a member of multiple technical and scientific societies and associations, and was awarded the title "TUM Emeritus of Excellence" by the President of Technische Universität München for his work at the university. itm researches on the methodological and technological development and optimization of interdisciplinary development tools and processes for intelligent, software intensive mechatronic products and manufacturing systems as well as their associated components. The research draws from the foundation of a specially tailored implementation of Quality Management. itm's thematic concentrations bind together to form a continuous entity,: automation, fieldbus communication, and mechatronics.
